(LATEST SPORT UPDATE) Harry Maguire signs new deal with Leicester City

Harry Maguire has marked another five-year contract with Leicester City, the club have declared.

The England worldwide was the subject of enthusiasm from Manchester United this late spring following a stellar World Cup crusade.

Maguire won his thirteenth top for England on Saturday night as he played a hour and a half in the 2-1 thrashing to Spain at Wembley.

The 25-year-old joined Leicester in the late spring of 2017 from Hull City for £17m and was named the club's player of the season and the players' player of the season in his presentation season at the King Power Stadium.

Addressing LCFC TV, Maguire stated: "As far back as I resulted in these present circumstances club, I've generally emphasized that they've been so great to me.

"They gave me a chance to play in the Premier League and fabricated an extraordinary stage for me to go and perform at the World Cup, so I express gratitude toward them a considerable measure.

"I owe them a great deal and I'm anticipating what's to come."

His new contract keeps him at Leicester until June 2023 and Maguire is satisfied to have his future settled.

"It's gigantic, clearly the administrator has come and he needed to remunerate me with a decent contract and to add more years to the agreement, so it is pleasant to have security behind me yet now I am anticipating the season ahead," Maguire said.

"It has been a decent begin that we have had and I am anticipating getting more focuses on the board.

"The supporters, as far back as I went to the club have been totally splendid with me. I am anticipating playing before them significantly more.

"We have a decent gathering of players here now and an awesome staff, with an incredible group behind us, and I am anticipating what's to come."
